Privacy notice
What this SentriqMesh system stores about you, why, for how long, and how to reach us.
Who is responsible
This system is run by the organisation that operates this website for community CCTV monitoring. Contact details have not been published yet; ask your security company or the person who gave you access.
What is stored, and why
- Your account: email address, a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself), your role and, for homeowners, the security company you chose. Needed to sign you in and to decide who may see which alerts.
- Alerts from a property's cameras: the time, camera, detected object and zone, and one snapshot picture. Used to warn the homeowner and, if the homeowner allows it, their security company. Snapshots (and video clips copied here when someone plays them) are deleted after 14 days; the alert record without the picture is kept.
- Video: recordings stay on the camera system at the property. They are only streamed when an authorised person plays a clip or, where the homeowner allowed it, watches a camera live during an event. Every live view is logged and the homeowner can see who watched.
- Notifications (only if you turn them on): for each device, the address its push service gave it, its encryption keys and a name such as "Chrome on Android". Needed to send alerts to that device. Removed when you turn notifications off, sign out on that device or change your password.
- Audit trail: sign-ins, changes and who opened which footage, with the IP address and browser used. Kept for security and accountability for 1095 days.
Who else receives data
- The homeowner's chosen security company (or every participating company if the homeowner chose none), unless the homeowner keeps alerts from the control room.
- Emails (password resets and invitations) are sent through our email provider.
- Notifications travel through your device's push service (Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft). They are encrypted for your device, so the push service can't read them.
- Nothing is sold, and there are no advertising or analytics trackers.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, cannot be read by scripts, is only sent over HTTPS to this site, and ends when your session expires or you sign out. There are no other cookies.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used, subject to the law (in South Africa the Protection of Personal Information Act, POPIA). You may also complain to the Information Regulator.
Security
Connections are encrypted, access is limited by role and security company, and every access to footage is recorded.
